What a week it's been!!

Ted and I were extremely pleased with the progress this week. We haven't seen much progress on the inside of the house since mid-October when they finished dry-walling, so we've been a little frustrated. The heartache joys of building, I guess.

We've been working since then on getting the rooms tiled that needed to be and we are almost done with that. Our master bathroom is taking longer than we thought, but when it's dark at 5:30 it doesn't leave much time for progress to be made on the weeknights and weekends are usually full of things to get done. Luckily we are almost finished with the master bathroom...hopefully next weekend we will be all done. (hopefully).

On Monday, the 2nd, we met with Justin, the trim carpenter. We discussed the shelving that we wanted in the pantry, linen closet and the bedroom closets.

Our master bedroom walk in closet inspiration:

HA! Yea right! This is the closet that Big built for Carrie...what I wouldn't do for a closet like that. Unfortunately I'd probably go bankrupt trying to fill it!!! (If you do not know who I'm referring to, you really need to watch Sex and the City :))

This is actually the real closet inspirations:

We also discussed with Justin what our locker in the mudroom will look like. This is what we are going for:

Justin started working on the trim and doors on Monday. When I got to the house at 3:30 that day to discuss our plans for the shelving I could hear the air gun blasting away as he hung up trim. It was music to my ears because it meant things were finally happening in the Younker house again.

In the past week we've had the stone delivered. Both the stone for the exterior of our home and for our fireplace. Here they are:

Stone for the fireplace - Sunset Ledgestone

Stone for the exterior - Blackhorse
And the biggest excitement for us this week - - - - the cabinets are IN!!!

I will apologize in advance for the photos. By the time we arrived at the house, the sun was setting, so the limited lighting in the house made for some poor quality of photographs.  But regardless, I snapped away with excitement.

And our doors are in!!! Here is a pic of our master bedroom door. They will be painted later to match the trim throughout the house.

Our pantry shelving is the only shelving that is done as of right now. The rest will be finished next week hopefully. I don't think we are going to have a problem finding storage space in this bad boy.

I love the pantry door. It's a frosted glass door. It is going to look great once it's stained to match the cabinets.

Ted, my dad and I also put up our mantel over the weekend. I LOVE how our mantel turned out. We ordered the wood from a reclaimed wood supplier out in Utah. Then we had our good friend Ross stain it and round the edges. Ross is a carpenter and has all the tools that we don't so we really appreciated him doing this for us. He did a fantastic job!

This coming up week we are hoping to see even more progress. The wood floors will be going in, as well as the trim carpenter will be continuing working on our closets and mudroom.  I'm hoping to see the fireplace stone and exterior stone up soon (I can't wait to see what the exterior stone and siding looks like together). And if all goes well the painters may come towards the end of the week as well. So we are trucking right along, my friends.

And yes, I have begun my countdown. 42 days!! :)

Thank you all for your kind words regarding our house and this blog. I appreciate them all so much. And thank you for all the support and assistance we have received from our family and friends. We can not express how much it means to us to have you there during this exciting time in our lives. And we can not wait for it to be finished so we can share it with all of you when we have our big house warming party next spring.

Until next time!!
