Making more decisions!!!

On Wednesday, September 4th, Ted, Laura (MK designer) and I went around Lincoln making decisions and more decisions. We started out at Edwards Stone to pick out the stone for the house. There were a lot of options to choose from, but luckily our choices were narrowed down since we wanted a grey color scheme. So that gave us about 5 options to choose from. We settled on "Blackhorse" (fitting for me with my background of horses :)). The staff at Edwards Stone was great to work with...they answered all of our questions and were accomodating to what we were looking for.

Next we headed to Consolidated Kitchens to pick out our cabinets for the kitchen, bathrooms and laundry room. The line we choose was Marquis Express Series. For the kitchen and master bathroom we choose the Mocha finish. In the laundry room and the guest bathroom we choose the Brandy. The style of cabinet we choose was Flat Panel Shaker. We can't wait to see what it all looks like put together

Then we raced off to Carpets Direct where we picked out our carpet. Ted and I are still deciding what to do for wood flooring so we skipped that for the time being (not to mention we really didn't appreciate the sales woman's attitude over our choice of flooring so we really didn't want to give this place any more business than we had to). We choose to go with the carpet that Laura suggested, because we've seen it in so many MK houses that we knew that was the right color for us. The color is Mink....I can't remember the brand name at the moment so will have to come back to that when I do.

We then went back to 84 Lumber to finalize all the decisions we made previously. Nothing had changed so we were in and out within 10 minutes.

Lastly we stopped at Brigg's to finalize our products there. Ted found a free tub (benefits of being a plumber) so we were able to save some money there. We even took a sample of  the sink color we liked for the kitchen so we could match it to granite (backwards I know, but we loved the color so much we were willing to do this).

It was a long afternoon of decisions, but it felt amazing and like a great accomplishment when we were done. It is so fun to make these decisions for the home of our dreams. Next is to watch that house take shape and go up!
